Redesign Background: Standard WordPress Theme and Albert Bow’s New Brand Guidelines

Albert Bow’s previous website ran on a standard WordPress theme and had a typical look for the recruitment sector. After the brand guidelines were updated, the website no longer matched either the company’s new style or its positioning in the technology niches of AI, Quant Finance, FinTech, and Blockchain.

The problem was not limited to the visual side. The website has a job board, so the relevance of job listings directly depends on the Loxo CRM integration. The existing Loxo plugin already handled basic job listing functionality, but the integration remained superficial: there was no automatic updating of vacancies on the website.

We had three tasks:

  • accurately transfer the new brand guidelines to the website without looking for a new visual concept;

  • extend the existing Loxo CRM plugin so that vacancies would be saved and updated automatically, without rebuilding the integration from scratch;

  • build a custom WordPress theme with support for AI tools for content generation and editing to speed up subsequent content and design iterations.

Three Things We’re Proud Of

AI

Filter for Email Campaigns

AI analyzes the content of an article and determines whether it should be added to a Mailchimp campaign.

2X

Faster Theme Development

The custom WordPress theme based on the new brand guidelines was developed twice as fast thanks to AI tools.

100%

Automatic Job Synchronization

We extended the existing Loxo CRM plugin: job listings on the website are saved and updated automatically.

Challenge: The Website Did Not Reflect Albert Bow’s Technology Expertise

Albert Bow competes for clients and candidates in the technology sectors of AI, Quant Finance, FinTech, and Blockchain. For a recruitment business operating in these areas, the website needs to demonstrate the company’s technology expertise even before the first conversation with a consultant. The previous version did not do this.

Standard WordPress Theme

The template offered limited customization and was not designed to work with AI tools. The standard theme had limited capabilities and was not adapted for AI-powered content tools.

Superficial Loxo CRM Integration

Jobs were added to the website without deep custom integration: there was no automatic saving or updating, so keeping the job board up to date depended on manual work.

Non-Technological Design

The typical recruitment-style look did not reflect Albert Bow’s specialization in Trading & Technology or its expertise in hiring professionals for these areas.

We worked within two strict constraints. The design had to follow the existing brand guidelines precisely, without developing a new visual concept. The Loxo CRM integration had to be extended using the existing plugin rather than rebuilt from scratch.

Solution: Custom WordPress Theme, Extended Loxo CRM Plugin, and AI Filter for Mailchimp

We saw no point in modifying the standard theme, as its limited customization was part of the problem. So we developed our own WordPress theme for the new design.

WordPress theme for the new brand guidelines. We transferred Albert Bow’s approved visual system to the website without a separate concept development stage. This allowed us to focus on accurately implementing the brand in the interface.

Support for AI content tools. The theme was developed with native support for AI tools for content generation and editing to speed up subsequent content and design iterations.

Extending the Loxo CRM plugin instead of building a new integration. Building the integration from scratch would have meant duplicating what was already working. So we retained the plugin’s core logic and added automatic saving and updating of job listings.

AI filter for Mailchimp. Not every article is suitable for an email campaign, so we added an AI filter before Mailchimp: it analyzes the content of an article and determines whether it should be added to the campaign.

WordPress, Loxo CRM, and AI Filtering

1. Where the Main Engineering Challenge Was

The most difficult part was combining two requirements. The theme had to strictly follow the approved brand guidelines while also supporting AI tools for content generation and editing. The theme had to meet the brand guidelines precisely and support AI content tools at the same time, and combining these two requirements was the main challenge.

The second challenge was the Loxo CRM plugin. It had to be extended with automatic saving and updating of job listings without affecting the core logic that the existing job functionality already relied on.

2. Two Custom Solutions

For Albert Bow, we developed two custom solutions: an extension of the Loxo CRM plugin and an AI filter for Mailchimp email campaigns.

3. Technology Stack

  • WordPress (custom theme), PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Loxo CRM - extension of the existing WordPress plugin

  • Mailchimp API

  • AI content relevance filter

  • AI tools for development

4. AI in Development

During the development of the custom WordPress theme, we used AI tools, which allowed us to speed up this stage by 2×.

What the WordPress Redesign and Loxo CRM Automation Changed

For Albert Bow

  • The new website aligns with the approved brand guidelines and the company’s positioning in Trading & Technology recruitment.

  • The team no longer depends on manually updating job listings in WordPress: job board data is updated through the extended Loxo CRM plugin.

  • Article selection for email campaigns is automated.

  • Thanks to support for AI content tools, future changes to the website can be made faster.

For Candidates, Clients, and Subscribers

  • The job board features up-to-date vacancies: they are automatically saved and updated from Loxo CRM.

  • The website presents Albert Bow’s specialization in Quant Finance, AI, Blockchain, and FinTech more clearly.

  • Email subscribers receive articles that the AI filter has identified as relevant.

For the Project

  • The Loxo CRM integration was extended rather than rebuilt, so the plugin’s core logic was preserved.

  • The custom theme was built as a foundation for future content and UI iterations.
